Five'sFoundations

Our Five's Foundations Program reflects an integrated, thematic approach to learning. Core to our beliefs, we uphold creativity and imaginative play as an essential part of learning in our Foundations class. Developmentally appropriate activities are designed to teach reading, writing, math, science, and social studies through a gentle and fun approach which highlights the importance of imagination in the cognitive and social development of a child.

Our curriculum allows active, personalized learning experiences that meet each child where they are in the learning process. We also encourage participation as members of a group as children learn to solve problems, listen to one another, and empathize. Our program integrates daily language/arts activities, phonics/reading instruction, writing, speaking, listening, and activity centers for the exploration of math and science.

This class is enriched with weekly classes taught by trained specialists in Music, Physical Education, Art, as well as six field trips throughout the year, including a service learning trip in the spring.
